Built in 1914 as the residence for prominent Mesa rancher Fred C.Weekes. The Weekes family lived there through 1950.
Weekes was born October 1865 in Ontario, Canada and came to
Mesa in 1888. In addition to his career as a cattleman and rancher,
Weekes also served as clerk of the Mesa Board of Education, was a member of the Mesa City Council between 1921 and 1925, a former director of the First National Bank of Mesa, and member of the Board of Governors of the Salt River Valley Water Users Association, now the Salt River Project.
